Monster Birthday
This week at Less is More the
theme is Monsters
Digital Image: Polly Craft
Sentiment: Computer generated
Colouring: Copics
Dies: Lawn Fawn & Spellbinders
Card: UPM, Simon Says Paper
On a different topic, it's magpie swooping season. People use different strategies such as fake eyes and spiky helmets trying to avoid attacks.. Expert advise that the best way is to make friends with them. Apparently magpies can recognise and remember human faces and once you have gained their trust they will be a friend for life.
We have had a couple of magpies visit us every day for quite a number years now and they never swoop us. They even bring thier babies. Having magpies sing to you first thing in the morning is a lovely way to start the day. Recently I found a lovely Facebook page The Magpie Whisperer https://www.facebook.com/themagpiewhisperer/ It has some wonderful videos of magpies.
Today a colleague lent me the book Penguin Bloom - The odd little bird who saved a family. This is a true story of how an injured magpie chick helps and brings hope to a family whose mother has suffered a horrendous accident. The book is full of beautiful photographs of the family and thier magpie, Penguin, taken by the father. I am really looking forward to reading the book.

It is the one layer challenge with a coloured card base at Less is More but with a difference. This challenge will run for 2 Weeks in conjunction with AAA CAS Cards.
I have used a Technique Tuesday image and sentiment. They were heat embossed using Hero Arts white embossing powder. I used a gel pen to make a faux stitched border.

Blue Bird
This week the Less is More Challenge #335 is Colours of Your Country's Flag. The Australian flag is red, white and blue.
I coloured the digital image, A Day
for Daisies, with Copics. I have a limited range of Copics hence the pale
blue rather than the navy of our flag. I hope this is still acceptable?
A small red punched flower with clear rhinestone centre was added to the
birds beak. Then using a Spellbinders circular die I cut a hole in piece
of card, stamped the sentiment, Avery Elle, and added three Kaiser Craft
pearls. This was then mounted over the bird image using foam tape.
Also Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Red, White &
Blue
Thank you for dropping by.

Beach Huts
I have used a digital image from Just Ink Lined which I coloured with Copics and the sentiment is from a Technique Tuesday set. Lawn Fawn dies were used to cut the curved lines. I fussy cut the green beach hut and mounted on foam tape for dimension.

Shadow
I have used a stamp from the Hero Arts Delicate Leaf Clusters set. Having masked the card I used Hero Arts ink to sponge the background. Then I employed the technique of second generation stamping to achieve a shadow. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. Finally this was mounted on the card base using foam tape.

Thanks a Latte
This is my first challenge for 2017, in fact this is the first challenge in quite a long time. The card is a one layer for the Less is More challenge #311 - Favourite Drink/Beverage.
I stamped the cup from MFT, Hot Stuff set. Then I made a mask and stamped Darkroom Door, Weathered Stripes background stamp, using Simon Says Stamps inkpad, Jelly Bean. I coloured the cup with Lyra pencils. For added interest I applied clear Wink of Stella and I drew in the swirl using a black Tombow. Finally
I stamped the sentiment from MFT, Hot Stuff set.
