Twofers - Butterflies

Tonight I have two cards for the Twofer Card Challenge #29 - Butterflies

Penny Black Flutters die was used in both cards.

The first card, FRIEND, I used Technique Tuesday Stamps for the flower and sentiment.  Copics were used for the colouring and some Kaiser Craft Pearles added.

The BIRTHDAY card I used design paper from the Collect Moments pad.  Again the sentiment was Technique Tuesday and the rhinestones are Kaiser Craft.

Thank you for visiting and take care.

Last Saturday I went to the White Night here in Geelong.
The City Hall and some of the old buildings had images projected onto them

There were illuminations in the park
The Art Gallery had the winning Archibald Prize portrait
and the public choice portrait exhibited on the ourside wall of the Gallery.  Guy Pearce grew up in Geelong.

There was music of all sort.  An opera singer was singing from the second floor of a car parking garage and from a civic monument.

Sorry this was a rather large post but I hope you enjoyed the photos.

Bits Box

It’s a great honour to have been asked to be the Guest Designer at Less is More, one of my favourite challenge blogs.  Thank you ladies.

This week it is the Recipe Challenge which is to use an item from your Bits Box.
My Bits Box is large, so I was spoilt for choice.  The items from the box are the Chloe Stem and the butterflies.

Dies: Chloe Stem , Memory Box and Spellbinders Circle
Punch: Butterflies, Martha Stewart
Sentiment: Technique Tuesday
Card: Bazzill and UPM
Ink: Distress Ink for Background and Butterflies
Shine: Sheer Shimmer Spritz.
Tape: Mounting Foam

I hope the search in you Bits Box was as fruitful as mine.  This challenge has encouraged me to look into my Bits Box more often.

The Less is More design team, as usual, have come up with some very inspiring designs.

Have fun!

Autumn Journal Page

Last year my sister gave me a beautiful sketch book for my birthday.  Up until now I haven’t used it in case I ruin it.  Well this month’s challenge my sister & I set for ourselves was to create a journal page.

My post tonight is my finished page in my beautiful sketch book.  The theme we have worked with is Autumn (here is a link to my sisters journal page).

Leaves (stamp and die) - Technique Tuesday
Colouring -  Distress Ink (leaves) and Copics (mushrooms and acorns)
Background - Kaiser Colour
Grass - MFT die
Quote - Computer generated

Thank You Flowers

CAS Colours and Sketches challenge this week is a colour

Stamp – Penny Black
Sentiment – Technique Tuesday
Colouring - Copics
Card – Bazzill and UPM
Embellishment – Wink of Stella

I had trouble with the Sahara Sand.  My greys were too blue and most of the browns were too dark.  So I settled for what I thought looked sandy coloured (looks darker in the photo).

Embossed Blossoms

Hello!  I’m back.  I had annual leave in January.  January is a good time to take leave because it is the most reliable time of the year for good weather.  It didn’t disappoint, some days it reached 40OC.

The Bendigo Art Gallery had an exclusive Edith Head costume exhibition on during January.  Edith Head worked on 1,000s of films and won 8 Academy Awards.  She dressed stars such as Dorothy Lamour, Mae West, Barbara Stanwick and Veronica Lake.  A friend and I drove up and really enjoyed it.

So now to the card I have made for the Less is More Challenge - Dry Embossing.
Embossing Folder - Stampin Up
Semtiment - Technique Tuesday
Colouring - Copics
Card - Bazzill & UPM

It is the one layer challenge with a coloured card base at Less is More but with a difference.  This challenge will run for 2 Weeks in conjunction with AAA CAS Cards.

I have used a Technique Tuesday image and sentiment.  They were heat embossed using Hero Arts white embossing powder.  I used a gel pen to make a faux stitched border.

Beach Huts

The challenge at Less is More this week is a sketch.

I have used a digital image from Just Ink Lined which I coloured with Copics and the sentiment is from a Technique Tuesday set.  Lawn Fawn dies were used to cut the curved lines.  I fussy cut the green beach hut and mounted on foam tape for dimension.
