IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK LIKE CHRISTMAS

Work closed Tuesday for the summer break.  So we are off until after the New Year.  I haven't felt at all Christmassy.  Covid has made me cautious about large gatherings so I haven't attended any parties.  I received my booster vacc today so that eases my mind a bit.
Looking around town and seeing the decorations I think I am starting to feel the Christmas Spirit.

Floating Christmas Tree, Geelong

Shopping Centre Christmas Trees

Even around our neighbourhood people have been decorating.  Most houses in our street have Christmas wreaths on their doors.  While I was walking my dog this morning I took the opportunity to take some photos.

I liked the novelty of the bells and the little reindeers of the first one.  The second one is very sophisticated but unfortunately this photo doesn't do it justice because it is in the shade.

I liked the colour comination of this first one, silver on blue, very pretty.  Again the photo doesn't do justice to the second photo.  The potted bush is covered in little blue baubles which were shining in the sun.

At the end of our street is a shop called Lily Pond.  It sells French antiques.  The window is always lovely but their Christmas Decorations are extra special.

This is a photo of our tree.  Have you put our your decorations yet ?  Christmas is upon us so I hope you are all able to be with family and friends.

              MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERY ONE

JOY

It’s the last Sunday of the month so it is time for the challenge I have with my sister, Cards and Co.  This month it is an Altered Item.

The big question was what to do?  I thought Christmas was a good place to start.  Also doing letters meant if I was only able to do one letter I still had something to show.  I played safe and use a small word.

Letters - KaiserCraft
Stamp Sets - Merry Jingle & Peace & Joy, both Penny Black; Poinsettia, Papertrey Ink; Christmas Rose Just Inklined digital stamp

Colouring - Copics
Accents - Nouvo Crystal drops & Kaiser Craft rhinestones
ChipBoard words - Scrapmatt
Paint - Kaisercolour

Do pop over and have a look at my sisters Altered Item, it's very pretty.

Thanks for dropping by

GingerBread Man

Challenge #238 at CASology this week has the cue word Crunch.  The big question was what did have have in my stash that could represent this?  I finally came up with a gingerbread man.  So here is my first Christmas card for the year.

I have used a digital image and sentiment from Pink Petticoat, which I coloured with Lyra pencils.  The embellishments are Pretty Pink Posh silver sequins and Kaiser Kraft rhinestones. This was then attached to some green card and the whole was mounted onto the base with foam tape.

Variation

Hello,

I am trying another variation on the wreath card.
Supplies:  White and green card, Hero Arts background, Penny Black image, Arte Stamp sentiment, Distress inkpad, Kaiser rhinestone and a ribbon.

In reality the colours look better and I like the colour combination but I think the background swamps the image.

The wreath is a new stamp that has given me lots of ideas, some of which just haven't worked.  One I haven't tried yet is a kraft card using the image.  Too late now I am about to be picked up to go to Tullarmarine airport.  I will be flying out later this afternoon.  So exciting!  Although by the time you read this post it will be the last day of my trip

Warm Winter Wishes

Hello,

It seems that at this time of year, for one reason or another, peoples thoughts turn to Christmas.  This is seen in the number of Winter/Christmas challenges.  I can relate to the sentiments on the Squirrel and the Fox.  Here in Australia it just isn't the same eating hearty roast meals in 40 degree temperature.  So lots of people now do cold dinners like seafood and salads and icecream plum pudding.  Therefor July is a good opportunity to do the big meal.

So for tonights card I gained inspiration from the challenge at The Squirrel and The Fox - Christmas in July and the Christmas Blog Challenge is for an Easel card.
Supplies:  White, red, green and Glitz card, Sassy Cheryl digital image, computer generated sentiment, Lyra pencils, Spellbinder dies, Papermania embossing folder and Carl punch

The Christmas in July challenges are Simply Create TooShellys Images and The Stamp Spot .  I do like The Stamp Spot image.

Allways Something Creative  - Is Christmas Already?
Always Playing with Paper  -  Anything Goes Christmas
Make it Monday - Anything Goes

I do feel a bit like the Vicar of Dibley in The Christmas Lunch Incident episode.

That's all for tonight.  Thank you for dropping by.
