The theme this week at Our BeautifulWorld #61 is Gate

Brandenburg  Gate

This is an early morning shot of the very famous Brandenburg Gate.     The Gate is as impressive, perhaps more so, in person than it is on the news.  It is a wonderful symbol of unity and peace.  I took this photo a couple of years ago when I visited Berlin.

Take care and thank you for visiting.

The theme this week at Our Beautiful World #59 is Aromatic
Stocks on the hall table
Buckets of flowers outside the florist.  The jonquils looked very pretty but I find their perfume too strong for indoors

Wednesday was a lovely sunny day and as I was walking past the Red Poppy florist  when I caught the scent of stocks.  It reminded me of the cue word for Our Beautiful World this week.  I bought a bunch to take home.  On the way home my car smelt wonderful.

Ros asked if we had a favourite aroma.  I like the smell of fresh brewed coffee in the morning, fresh baked bread and home cooked curry.  I like working in the garden with all the aromas, each season is different.  I like it when I am in the bush after rain.  The smell of eucalyptus is so fresh and clean.  Ros also mentioned how fragrance can invoke memories.  Lavender makes me think of one of my mother’s aunts.  When we went to stay with her the bed linen always smelt of lavender.  Another is a particular male fragrance reminds me of my first boyfriend.  Also when I smell beer brewing I remember backpacking in Germany.  This is because one of the Youth Hostels I stayed in was very close to a brewery

My weekend at the film festival was fantastic!!  I left home at 7:30am Friday and arrived back home at 1:30am Monday.  I was very tired but had enjoyed myself enormously.  There really wasn’t a bad movie amongst them.  Some of the best were Jack (German), Queen and Country (British) and A Girl At My Door (Korean).  I also saw the first two episodes of a new mini-series coming to Australia, Devil’s Playground.  It’s a psychological thriller and I will certainly be watching the series

Take care and  thank you for visiting.

The theme this week at Our BeautifulWorld #58 is Chocolate

Put “eat chocolate” at the top of your list of things to do today.  That way , at least you’ll get one thing done!
~ Author Unknown

There is a nice chocolate shop not too far from work and they usually have a attractive displays.  I wasn’t disappointed.  Of course while I was there I had to buy some chocolate, it is only good manners.

This weekend is my special weekend.  I am off to Melbourne to attend the Melbourne International Film Festival.  In the next three days I will see thirteen movies.  I am really looking forward to the weekend.

Have a lovely weekend, I know I will, and thank you for visiting.

Camellias in my garden.

At present this is the way I relax at night

Stemmed wines glasses in the cupboard

A pool in the Wagga Wagga Botanic Gardens.

Dough for some bread rolls.

Dishwashing liquid.

A few simple household levers.

A Chinese silk embroidered picture, a souvenir of my trip to China.

We have two new hens and they do everything together.  If you see one you see the other.

We drove up to Wagga Wagga to celebrate our son’s birthday.  This is a view through the windscreen on the trip home.

This is another view but taken outside the car.

The cue word this week at Our BeautifulWorld #57 is Time.

I took this photo on a trip I did in 2012.  It is of a medieval astronomical clock located in Prague.  Not only is it an amazing piece of technology it is very beautiful.

This piece of music for clarinet shows it is played in 4/4 time.
