Commencement

I am very excited to be the guest designer at CASology this week.

I have used a clip art image for the mortar board.  I printed it on card and fussy cut it.  A Lawn Fawn Stitched die was used to cut a piece of card.  The silver card was cut using a Spellbinders die.  The sentiment is from a Simon Says set.  This was silver embossed using Hero Arts embossing powder. This was mounted on a piece of black card and then attached to the card using foam tape.

I am sorry the photo isn't the best because of the reflection on the silver star.

Shadow

The theme for this week's Less is More Challenge #326 is Lucky Dip Shadow.

I have used a stamp from the Hero Arts Delicate Leaf Clusters set.  Having masked the card I used Hero Arts ink to sponge the background.  Then I employed the technique of second generation stamping to achieve a shadow.  The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday.  Finally this was mounted on the card base using foam tape.

Yappy Birthday

The card tonight is for the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #219 and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes

I started by stamping the Mama Elephant dog on white cardstock and colouring it with Lyra pencils. I created a hole in the design paper (Stampin' Up I think).  I stamped the sentiment which is from the same set as the dog.  Then I drew a dotted line around the edge of the design paper with a white gel pen.  The design paper was then mounted onto the card with foam tape, as was the dog and sentiment banner.

Season's Greetings

I made it!  I turned on the computer earlier this evening and nothing happened.  Nooooo!  After working on it for over an hour I got it going.  What a relief.  The first thing I did when it started was to load everything onto an external drive, just in case.  Something I had been meaning to do for some time.  So happy days we are operational again.

So here is my card for the Casology Challenge #246 - Season.

I thought this was a great cue word, lots of room for interpretation.  I loved Rachel's take on the cue word.  But as I haven't done a Christmas card for awhile I thought I would use Season's Greeting.

I stamped the Penny Black, Berry Wreath, with VersaMark onto a piece of red card.  Then I added Ranger, Platinum, embossing powder.  I did the same with a Watzing Mouse Stamp sentiment.  I covered the bottom portion of a white card with Versamark  and again used Ranger Platinum embossing powder.  Finally the red card was mounted onto the base card using foam tape.
