Joining the fun at the following challenges:
Make it Monday Party: - #120 Anything Goes

Today we went to a Christmas carols luncheon.  It was great fun.  The company was lovely, the food was delicious and it is always nice to sing carols.

There was one carol I would like to share.  It is an Australian adaption of Jingle Bells.  This isn't new, so Australians will know it.

Aussie Jingle Bells

Dashing through the bush
In a rusty Holden ute
Kicking up the dust
Esky in the boot
Kelpie by my side
Singing Christmas songs
It's summer time and I am in
My singlet, short and thongs!

CHORUS
Oh! Jingle Bells, JingleBells
Jingle all the way
Christmas in Australia
On a scorching summer's day
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells,
Christmas time is beaut
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a rusty Holden ute!

Engines getting hot
Dodge the kangaroos
Swaggy climbs aboard
He is welcom too
All the family is there
Sitting by the pool
Christmas day, the Aussie way
By the babecue!

CHORUS

Come the afternoon
Grandpa has a doze
The kids and Uncle Bruce
Are swimming in their clothes
The time comes round to go
We take a family snap
Then pack the car and all shoot through
Before the washing up!

CHORUS

Must close.  Take care and thank you for dropping by

Endless Summer

Hello,

I have been thinking about the challenge over at Southern girls challenge - Endless summer since it started.  Summer is my favourite season and as a child it did seem endless.  Every summer our family would spend a fortnight camping at the beach and most of the time was spent either lazing on the beach or playing in the water.  Bliss!

I have decided to be a little different and combine Endless summer with some Christmas challenges.  I have never actually celebrated Christmas at the beach but our summer and Christmas do coincide.  So here is my card
Supplies:  White and blue card, Meljens digital tree, Diane Carubia digital beach scene, StampIt sentiment, Lyra pencils and Kindy Glitz

So I am off to join some challenges -
The Squirrel & the Fox - Christmas
Tammy's Scrapin Corner   - Anything Goes
Digi Galore Challenge - Christmas
Fresh Brewed Designs Challenge - #125 Christmas
Come and get it challenges - Anything Goes
Eclectic Ellapu #10 - Anything Goes
Platypus Creek Digitals  - Anything Goes
Card Makin Mamas: Happy Holidays
Simply Create; Anything Goes
Make it Monday: Anything Goes

I had hoped to make some mince tarts but they will have to wait until tomorrow. Take care and I will see you tomorrow.  Thank you for dropping by.

I spent the afternoon in the garden and have just about knocked the vegetable garden into shape.  I also shifted all my herbs into one garden bed.  My curly parsley has gone to seed so will need to replace it and I am going to have another go at growing coriander.  I saw a rhubarb crown at the nursery I might buy on of those next time.  All I need now is continued good weather and to keep the garden watered.

That is all for today.  Thank you for dropping by

I took a couple of photos of Melbourne to share with you.  I like window shopping in the old arcades and at present they are beautifully decorated.

The Melbourne City Hall is looking very festive too
Well I must finish.  Take care and thank you for dropping by.

It was such a nice day that I spent time gardening.  But first my husband and I went to the local garden centre for some herbs and vegetable plants and while we were out we had coffee and enjoyed people watching.  It was very pleasant.

While I was at the garden centre I took a photo of a pretty Hydrangea, I hadn't seen one like this before.  Pity I don't have any room for it in my garden.

Take care and thank you for dropping by.

Robins and Magpies

Hello,

This week over at One Layer Wednesday the challenge is to put snow on your card...and not just stamped snow - "glitter, sparkle pens, Smooch, glimmer mist, flower soft, flock, puff paint, artist's paste, or any other simulation of snow you can think of".  I decided to try something new so I have used a dimensional paint.

Supplies:  White card, Hero Arts image, Artee Stamps sentiment, Kaleidacolor ink pad, Lyra pencils and KindyGlitz 3D dimensional paint.

Will also connect with
Fat Pages and Cards with Attitude-anything goes
Artistic Inspirations-anything goes
Great impressions December: anything goes
Crafty bloggers network 6: anything goes

We have a family of magpies living in our garden and at breakfast time I can watch them feeding in the garden.  There are three babies that can fly but not feed themselves yet.  I like watching the parents running from one baby to another to feed them all.  The babies are quite noisey until food is put in their mouths.  I have been trying to take a photo of the process and finally have a reasonable shot.
Magpies can be very territorial during mating season and will swoop anyone or anything that comes into their territory.  I have walked out of a park backwards so I could keep an eye on a magpie.  Because the minute I turned my back on it it would attack me.  When we took our dog for a walk in another park the magpies would leave us alone but attack the dog.  In the end our dog refused to enter this particular park.  Not surprising really.

The family in our garden don't bother us or our pets.  But at present they won't allow any other birds into our yard when they are feeding.  It doesn't matter whether the bird is big or small the magpies chase them out.

I hope you are all having a nice weekend.

Thank you for dropping by

Hello,

This week the challenge at One Layer Wednesday is to create a scene.  This was a fun challenge.  I have used a photo as part of a scene before but never created a complete scene.  I must admit the fun was also tempered with frustration.  I had completed a few scenes before this only to have a mishap such as a smudge or inky fingers spoil the card.  On this one it was the sentiment.
